the development of this instrument.” Castagnari’s contribution to the evolution of the diatonic accordion is not simply linked to technological advance. On the contrary, it deals with the love for the instrument and the empathy with musicians: this is a working attitude that seeks to consolidate what already exists and to make it better. The origins of our vocation for excellence trace back to the beginning of the last century. The firm was founded by Giacomo, an ex apprentice of the famous accordion-maker Filippo Guzzini (today’s Castagnari’s maternal great-grandfather) who opened his own workshop when he was still very young. Giacomo started producing
accordions together with his wife Ida and, since
then, time and quality have been his winning
hand. Giacomo passed down his passion to his
children Mario and Bruno, who, in turn, passed
it down to the current generations. Since then,
Castagnari has been a synonym for a careful craft
without compromise, along with the typical Italian
creativity. Castagnari has become a respected firm
thanks to their superbly finished and perfectly tuned instruments, which are appreciated everywhere for their unique and distinctive sound. “In the picturesque setting of Castelnuovo in Recanati, surrounded by the hills of the Marche, our family continues the tradition in a climate of harmony and peace, passing down to the new generations our cultural, professional and human values. We are proud of our work as well as honoured to collaborate closely with musicians, listening to their needs and suggesting new creations.”
